Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody is a prominent character in the Harry Potter series. He first appears in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
A legendary Auror, known for his paranoia and relentless pursuit of Dark wizards, Moody suffered numerous injuries during his career, leading to his distinctive appearance: a missing eye replaced with a magical one that could see through walls, a chunk missing from his nose, and various scars.
In The Goblet of Fire, the real Moody was kidnapped by Barty Crouch Jr., who impersonated him using Polyjuice Potion to manipulate the Triwizard Tournament. Brendan Gleeson portrayed the character in the film adaptations, from The Goblet of Fire onward including in the movie adaptation of Order of the Phoenix and briefly, posthumously, in Deathly Hallows Part 1.
